"Baddie to baddie" and "girl to girl" are peer hooks. A woman talks to camera like she is passing a friend a tip, and the app is one of the tips. We track 19 app TikToks that open this way, from 5 apps and 9 creators. Together they have 11,579,730 views, with a median of 293,306 per video.

What is the baddie to baddie format?
It looks like a selfie video between friends, and you can spot it in the first second. The opening line is "baddie to baddie…", "girl to girl…" or "from one cool girl to another…". She talks face to camera, in a glam, gym or bedroom setting.
The topics are the ones women take to a friend before a search engine: glow-ups, bodies, relationships and outfits. The app is one of the tips, often shown on the phone screen. The advice is the point of the video.
Which apps use it, and how well does it work?

View counts are from when we saved each video. We only track app videos with 50,000+ views. Musa has 10 of the 19 videos, Vent Now 6, and Phia, Stimuler and Fable 1 each. Fable’s one video is not in this table. The Stimuler line, as we logged it, has no peer phrase.
The biggest one is from Vent Now, an AI emotional support app (App Store). It opens on a question most people would only ask a close friend:
Phia, an AI shopping app (App Store), uses the "cool girl" version to share a styling tip:
What makes the top videos work?
Start with the top video. Vent Now’s opener asks if you still get retroactive jealousy when your relationship is "ACTUALLY healthy", then "how TF did you make it go away?!?!?" Nothing in that line points to an app. It reads like a message in a group chat, and it has 2,483,342 views.
Musa opens on a warning instead. "Those white dots on your nipples are not pimples" makes you stay for the reason. Musa is a period and self-care app (App Store), and these are body questions people are shy to search. It has 10 of the 19 videos, and three of them passed 1M views.
The accounts fit the topic. @lana.cyclesync and @grace.cycletips are built around cycle tips, so a period app belongs in the feed. Both ran the same white-dots warning, and both versions passed 1M views.
Phia shows the soft version. "From one cool girl to another this is what we are using to style our outfits" is a recommendation with no problem attached, and it reached 1,951,928 views.
Stimuler, an English practice app, posted in Indonesian and got 442,579 views. Its opening line, as we logged it, has no peer phrase, so it is weak proof that the hook works outside English.
How do you make one for your app?
- Pick one question your users would only ask a friend, and that your app answers. Write it the way they would text it. Vent Now’s line keeps the all-caps "ACTUALLY" and the "?!?!?".
- Match the opener to the topic. In this set, the relationship video opens on a question, the body videos on a warning, and the outfit video on a plain recommendation.
- Put the peer phrase first, then the question or warning, in on-screen text and out loud. "Girl to girl, those white dots…" is the pattern.
- Make it look like a selfie video: phone at arm’s length, face to camera, natural light, one continuous shot. Aim for that look whether the face is a creator or an AI character.
- Bring the app in as one of the tips. Show it on the phone for a few seconds, then go back to the advice, the way Phia shows what "we are using to style our outfits".
- Give the account a topic and one face. @lana.cyclesync is a cycle-tips account first, so a period app fits. Keep the same face on every video, so the tips seem to come from one friend.
- Keep the rest of the video the same and test 3 to 5 opening lines. Keep the one that holds viewers. When one wins, try it on a second account, the way Musa ran the white-dots warning on two.
