Tipsy Chat’s TikTok strategy: 94 videos, 575M views, 58 creators

Fandom creators, not app accounts: they open on a character fans love, show the app as the answer, and end on an invite code.

Tipsy Chat is an AI role-play and companion app: people chat with AI versions of anime, manga and book characters, or make their own. On TikTok it grows through a wide network of fandom creators, not its own accounts. We track 94 Tipsy Chat videos with 50,000+ views from 58 accounts: 574,660,335 views in total, a median of about 1.27 million, and a top video with 130,847,297. 83 of them push the creator’s personal invite code.

View counts are from when we saved each video. We only track app videos with 50,000+ views. German and Spanish lines have an English translation in parentheses; long lines are shortened.

One creator holds the top three. @megumisbubble, a German anime creator, posted three TikToks between November 2025 and January 2026 that have 252,650,495 views together: 44% of everything we track for the app. She opens on a line any anime fan has said, holds up a tablet with the app at 0:07 to 0:12, and closes on her code, Megumi20, and the link in her bio.

What does a Tipsy Chat TikTok look like?

  • The opening: usually a fan wish or a named character. “Ojalá pudiese hablar con mi personaje favorito” (I wish I could talk to my favorite character) has 13,644,398 views.
  • The setting: a creator talking to camera with a tablet or phone. 33 of the 94 videos are talking heads, and they hold 70% of the views.
  • The turn to the app: in the sketches, a second person asks (“what are your hobbies?”) and the app is the answer. The median video shows or names it at 9.8 seconds.
  • The offer: 83 of the 94 mention a code in the voiceover, on screen or in the caption. 45 mention gems (23 of them say 100), and 35 give a 24- or 48-hour window.
  • The language: by our count, 50 are in Spanish, 37 in English and 5 in German.

  • App-screen explainer (26 videos)2.55M
  • Text over a daily moment (9 videos)2.45M
  • Acted sketch (22 videos)1.77M
  • Problem, then the app (7 videos)1.11M
  • POV story (20 videos)291K

ugcMaxx library, Nov 2, 2026. Formats with 5 or more of the 94 videos. Testimonials are only 5 videos, so read that bar as a hint.

App-screen explainers do the most work: 26 videos and 259,439,515 views. POV stories look weakest, but half of them went up in September and October 2026, and new videos have had less time: the 26 from those months have a median of 255,724, against 2.28M for older ones.

Why does it work?

  • The hook is the fandom. @rhauura’s line about Levi (falling for him is easy, getting him to fall for you is hard) stops Attack on Titan fans before the app shows up. It has 29,092,673 views and 15,686 shares.
  • A second person makes the pitch feel like gossip. @megumisbubble plays both friends in her hobby sketch. In @villumimi’s car skit (16.0M views), someone accuses her of cheating; she is texting an AI anime boyfriend.
  • The code asks for action today. 100 gems in 24 hours is small and clear. Users also earn gems for invites, per Yangfan Chuhai, so viewers post their own codes too, like @typsicodigos.
  • Language sells. In the top video, what sets Tipsy apart from similar apps, she says, is that the whole app works in German.
  • “No filter” is the comparison. 25 of the 94 say the app has no filter (sin filtro, keinen Filter): fewer content limits than other character apps. It is the complaint Swerve built its videos on.

Which accounts post for Tipsy Chat?

The top three accounts hold only 23 of the 94 videos. In our look at apps that post from many TikTok accounts, Tipsy Chat had more than any other app.

Videos with 50,000+ views we track for each account. 2 of @megumisbubble’s 5 are Instagram Reels; the other 92 videos are TikToks.

Swerve, another AI chat app, does the opposite: 15 of the 20 videos in our Swerve breakdown came from one app-named account, @shane.swerve. Tipsy’s app-named accounts we have seen (@tipsychat.official, @yagirltipsy.chat) have no video above 50,000 views. The 58 that do belong to anime fans, BookTok readers, cosplayers and faceless story accounts.

The most active accounts are not the biggest. @dumboiyeet, @jacobsbooknook and @pecoriin, whose first tracked Tipsy videos date from 2026, return every few weeks, at medians of 438K to 664K. The top four videos come from two creators who posted 5 and 4 times. Six captions carry an ad label (“*ad”, “Publi”, “#ad”), four of them from @rhauura. Who makes Tipsy Chat, and how much does it make?

Tipsy Chat launched on the App Store on August 15, 2024, sold by Lightspeed Intelligence Pte. Ltd. of Singapore (Airbridge). A Chinese report ties it to a Beijing company, Xinghe Juexing Intelligent Technology, with a team from ByteDance, Alibaba and other large Chinese tech firms and investors including 5Y Capital, Matrix Partners China and GSR Ventures (Z Finance).

Growth was flat for a year. In August 2025, monthly downloads rose about tenfold, with 350,000+ new users, mostly in Mexico and Spain, per Diandian data cited by Yangfan Chuhai. Our library shows the turn a month later: 7 tracked videos in September 2025, after no more than 3 in any earlier month.

Appfigures put revenue at $15.2 million for the first half of 2026, second among AI companion apps behind Zeta (36Kr). Later estimates are higher: about $17 million for August 2026 (Sensor Tower, cited by Z Finance) and about $11 million a month in October (Airbridge). All are outside estimates. UniqueBase reports $100M+ in annual recurring revenue, but the 36Kr article it cites gives only the half-year figure, so we leave it out.

Then the store problem. By late October 2026, Tipsy Chat had disappeared from the US App Store, per Z Finance, which links it to adult role-play content but says the cause is not confirmed. On November 3, its App Store page did not load in the US, UK, Germany, Mexico or Spain; tipsy.chat was still up. As with Prayer Lock, the videos worked and the listing was still at risk.

How do you use this for your app?

  1. Find the fandoms that already want your product, and list the characters they talk about.
  2. Open on the wish, not the app. Put the character or the fan’s wish in line one, and bring the app in at 0:05 to 0:12.
  3. Put a second person in the scene. A friend asks what you keep doing on your iPad, and the app is the answer.
  4. Give each account its own code, a real reward and a deadline. Say it, show it, and put it in the caption.
  5. Go wide, then go back to who hit. 45 of Tipsy’s 58 accounts posted once; its top four videos came from two that came back.
  6. Test other languages early. Over half of Tipsy’s tracked videos are in Spanish, and its top three are in German.
  7. Use faceless slots for volume. Drawn stories and voiceovers are 28 of the 94. Their median is lower (645K against 2.28M with a person on camera), but one account can post them often. AI actors or faceless text fit here.
