Cheaterbuster is a paid web tool that searches Tinder for a specific person’s profile. Its TikTok runs on staged cheating skits from a small group of repeat creators: most often a wife catches her husband, and a Cheaterbuster result shows up as the proof. We track 266 of its videos with 50,000+ views on 18 accounts: 471,673,134 views in total, a median of 425,504, and a top video with 23,284,679. A 2024 Shortimize case study credits an open affiliate program for about $50,000 in monthly recurring revenue.

View counts are from when we saved each video. We only track app videos with 50,000+ views. Opening text is the first on-screen line, as posted.
The top video is a doorstep scene. The woman inside thinks the knock is her food order. The visitor found her in “Rob’s phone on his Tinder and his Hinge,” and both women learn they are with the same man. A red profile card for Robert appears at 0:39 of 66 seconds. Nobody says the app’s name, and the caption doesn’t tag it.
In 6 of the top 8, a man gets caught. The other 2 come from @avery.colexx, who plays a husband catching his wife.
What does a Cheaterbuster TikTok look like?
- The cast: one or two people acting out a fight at home, at a front door or on a call. 182 of the 266 are acted sketches and 63 are POV stories. 263 have a person on camera.
- The first line: the whole premise as on-screen text at 0:00, like a confession: “Telling my husband he has to leave after finding his tinder profile.” 130 open on a curiosity gap and 46 on a POV line.
- The detail: one odd prop. “Red flag cupcakes since you’re a walking red flag” for a birthday. A wife’s “gym” trips on a membership her husband cancelled weeks ago.
- The proof: a profile result on a phone, laptop, TV or printed poster. In the 222 videos where we timed it, the app first shows up at a median of 0:30.
- The ask: none. 262 of the 266 have no call to action, though 131 captions tag #cheaterbuster.
- The length: a median of 63 seconds.
Why does it work?
The husband story wins. When the opening line names a husband, boyfriend or dad, the median is 1,322,193 views across 124 videos. When it names a wife or girlfriend, the median is 204,273 across 67.
The opening line is the first on-screen text plus the first spoken line. Groups overlap: 19 of the 37 Tinder lines also name a husband, boyfriend or dad. ugcMaxx library, Nov 2, 2026.
Part of that gap is the accounts. The three biggest, @renaee.xo_, @ragebaitcharlee and @rantwithashh, tell the wronged woman’s side: 60 of their 69 opening lines name a husband, boyfriend or dad. Leave them out and the gap shrinks to 302,487 against 204,273: still 1.5x.
- Naming Tinder up front helps. The 37 videos that say “Tinder” in the opening line have a median of 2,136,235; the other 229 have 297,177. The viewer knows what the proof will be.
- The app is the evidence, not the subject. Cheaterbuster appears when the argument needs proof. In the 212 comments we saved from two of the videos, one names the app.
- People share the revenge. The Halloween video has 280,074 shares and the divorce presentation 230,116. “Watch my husband cheat because I gained weight during pregnancy” has 145,964.
- Series bring viewers back. 34 of the 266 are labeled Part or Pt; @bellaeverlynn got to Part 7.
Scripts travel between accounts, and the account sets the ceiling. @rantwithashh posted “Tracked my husband down to a random apt and his side chick thought I was Uber Eats” in February 2026 (20,338,474 views) and a reworded version in April (23,284,679). @kate.lee.90 posted the same line in April and May: 1,500,057 and 1,204,527 views. Same words, a 13x gap.

Videos with 50,000+ views we track for each account, TikTok and Instagram together. 5 more accounts have 1 or 2 videos each; 3 of those 6 are in Spanish, all with over 1M views.
Most handles are personal names. The library flags two as persona accounts made for the app: @jakesulley_ and @rileywithreceipts. Six smaller accounts tag #cheaterbuster in every caption (87 videos, medians of 124,700 to 210,125); the four biggest by views tag it in 17 of their 99.
216 of the 266 are from 2026, and October 2026 was the busiest month in our data, with 35. More on the model in why top apps post from 20+ TikTok accounts, or browse all 266 Cheaterbuster videos in the ugcMaxx library.
How does the Cheaterbuster affiliate program work?
In 2024 it was open to anyone. Shortimize says there were no follower minimums: you filled in a form, got a referral link and earned a commission per new user, with a library of clips to edit. Failory gives the rates: $40 per 100,000 views plus 15% of revenue from each paying user referred, with $2,000 a month split among the top 5 affiliates. That is $0.40 per 1,000 views, a little under what clipping programs pay. Failory reports 350M TikTok views in six months.
Both write-ups are from October 2024. Our data starts in March 2025 and looks different from a clip library: original skits, acted by the same people for months. Public posts don’t show which accounts are affiliates or how they are paid.
Who runs Cheaterbuster, and how much does it make?
Cheaterbuster launched in 2016 as Swipebuster, per Xataka. VICE reported in 2020 that a small team in Mexico City runs it, and its creator spoke under a pseudonym. You enter a name, age and location, or a photo, and it looks for a matching Tinder profile, for about €17.99 per search (Xataka, November 2025).
The product touches privacy: 404 Media reported in October 2025 that face-search sites like Cheaterbuster can find a person’s Tinder profile from one photo, and flagged the risk for people avoiding an abusive ex or a stalker.
The only revenue figure we found is Shortimize’s: about $50,000 in monthly recurring revenue as of October 2024, “largely driven by this affiliate strategy.” Shortimize sells social video analytics, and we could not verify the number.
How do you use this for your app?
- Find the moment your app is the proof. Cheaterbuster’s result ends an argument. For a budgeting app it is the statement, for a study app the score.
- Put the whole premise in the first line, with one odd detail: “she thought I was Uber Eats.”
- Show the app inside the scene, late, and skip the pitch. 262 of 266 videos here ask for nothing.
- Write each premise from both sides and let the numbers pick.
- Reshoot winners on other accounts, and expect a wide spread: the same Uber Eats line did 20.3M on one account and 1.5M on another.
- Judge each account after 10+ videos. Medians here run from 124,700 to 2,549,658.
- Cast people who can act an argument: human creators or AI actors. If a post is paid, turn on TikTok’s content disclosure setting.
We script and make relationship and dating content for apps with AI, and a human team edits and posts it. Book a call to plan 20 story premises and the accounts to post them, or start with the free campaign planner.
