View counts are from when we saved each video. We only track app videos with 50,000+ views. Library snapshot of November 2, 2026. Meta Ad Library pulled October 30 and 31, 2026.
The tied median hides two shapes. Four comedy accounts (@tooned.ai, @yuliia.ni, @its.all.random12, @russianwithmomo) made 114 of Pingo’s videos and 66% of its views, while its three busiest accounts made 176 videos and only 10% of the views. Airlearn leans on one account: @learnwithshrimpik has 38% of its views from 38 videos. Both run the kind of network we cover in why top apps post from 20+ TikTok accounts.
Which formats get more views for each app?
Both apps lead with the acted sketch. Pingo gets more from it and from problem-then-app videos; Airlearn does better with daily moment text and app screen explainers. Reaction memes are a draw.

What is Pingo AI’s signature TikTok format?
The AI tutor is the comedian. A creator says one short phrase to Pingo’s voice chat, often in Spanish or Russian, and the app’s reply is the punchline: a stern correction, an insult, or a rude double meaning from a one-letter slip. Pingo’s 143 reaction videos have a median of 337,326 views, more than twice the 145,469 of its 153 talking heads.

Pingo AI’s five most-viewed TikToks. Translations in parentheses.
The top video answers a viewer’s comment. @tooned.ai tries “Parangaricutirimícuaro” over and over, and the app says “No” every time. The tablet is on screen by 0:03.
A Baijing App report on 36Kr says Pingo recruits micro-creators with 5,000 to 30,000 followers, pays a base fee plus bonuses tied to views, keeps the top 20 to 30%, and requires the real app on screen. Co-founder Morrie Schonfeld’s podcast episode sums it up as “Running 100 creators like a VC portfolio.”
What is Airlearn’s signature TikTok format?
A crying close-up, one hard word, then the answer card. The creator mangles a word under “Why tf is Russian so hard?”, and by second 2 the video cuts to an Airlearn card with the word, how to say it and what it means. 179 of Airlearn’s 472 videos open with a “why is [language] so hard” line, at a median of 328,805 views, about 1.5 times its overall median.
| Views | Account | Opening line | Posted |

| 6,072,738 | @learnwithshrimpik | “Why tf is Russian so hard?”, then Верблюд (camel) | Nov 26, 2025 |
Airlearn’s five most-viewed TikToks. Translations in parentheses.
The top video is 8 seconds long. @learnwithshrimpik tries “Библиотека” (library) three times, and the card appears at 0:01. Its 1,675,683 shares are about three times those of Pingo’s most-shared video.
She used a version of the same line on 36 of her 38 Airlearn videos, changing only the word, for a median of 1,865,775 views.
What does each app do that the other does not?
Only Pingo AI:
- A feature as the setup. @yuliia.ni acts out strict classroom lessons she built in Pingo’s custom mode: 6 videos, 25,961,255 views.
- A Chinese lane. 114 Pingo videos teach or use Chinese, from accounts like @howtosaynihao and @chinesewkat. Airlearn has 1.
- Meta ads. 39 Pingo ads were live on its own page in our Meta Ad Library pull, the first from August 27, 2026. The two longest-running (64 days) are creator-style videos, one opening on “Why is Japanese so hard?”. We found none from an Airlearn page. More in which apps run Meta ads the longest.
Only Airlearn:
- One script, many creators. A cooking script, where the tutor asks “What are you cutting?” over a cucumber, ran on 24 videos from 8 accounts in Russian, Thai and English, for 27.5M views.
- A puppet lane. Four puppet accounts posted 106 videos, each teaching one rude slang phrase, and 90 end on some version of “Still don’t get it? Get Airlearn.” Six use an AI avatar, with a median of 1,443,715 (a small sample). Pingo has 11 faceless videos. More in AI faceless accounts.
- Partner tags and codes. 301 captions carry #airlearnpartner and 262 a numbered code like #air4387 (176 codes in all). Pingo uses #pingoai with no codes, and 18 of its captions start with “ad-”.
- Spoken asks and more languages. 79 videos have a spoken ask (“Practice English on Airlearn”) against Pingo’s 9, and 172 use Thai, Vietnamese or Tagalog, where Pingo has none.
Who makes Pingo AI and Airlearn, and how much do they make?
Pingo AI is a Y Combinator company (Summer 2025) founded by Michael Xing (CEO) and Morrie Schonfeld (COO). It launched in January 2025 and reported 300K+ users and $200K in monthly recurring revenue (MRR) by July 2025 in its launch post. Schonfeld’s April 2026 Superwall Podcast episode put it close to $500K a month, with 3 million users and no paid ads. The Baijing App report estimates a May 2026 peak of $480K after store fees.
Airlearn is Unacademy’s language app, announced by co-founder Gaurav Munjal in February 2024 for a US launch (Inc42). In June 2025, Outlook Business reported that he and Roman Saini would spin it out and run it full time. In July 2026 Munjal wrote on LinkedIn that it was at almost $5M bookings run rate, with 110,000 paid subscribers and about 2M downloads a month, without performance marketing. That is up from $2M and 17,500 subscribers in April 2025 (The Economic Times).
All of these are self-reported or estimated. $5M a year in bookings is about $415K a month, so the two may be closer in size than the headlines suggest.
How do you use this for your app?
- Keep one struggle line. “Why is [language] so hard?” opens 179 Airlearn videos and 44 Pingo videos (Pingo’s median on it: 784,611). Change the word, not the line.
- Make the product’s reply the punchline. If your app talks, answers or scores, film that moment.
- Show the app in the first 3 seconds, as both apps do in about 73% of their videos.
- Write shared scripts and hand each one to several accounts in several languages.
- Give each account one language and one bit, then feed the winners. You will not know in advance which account takes off.
- Add a faceless lane: puppets or AI avatars that teach one phrase per video.
- Track each account with a tag and a code, and test the winning hooks as Meta ads. Pingo’s longest-running ad opens on the same struggle line.
